What are the new features of the latest iPod Touch?
Good news for Apple fans, we have all the iPod touch 7 launch news for 2019. Apple has updated the iPod Touch for the first time since 2015.The seventh-generation model looks familiar but is the fastest and most affordable option to date.
So, what’s new?
The biggest change is that it is now powered by a much faster A10 Fusion Chip, just like the iPhone 7. This chip makes the iPod run twice as fast as the previous model and produces three times better graphics on the same battery life. For users this will translate into being able to use the iPod for a variety of new things including; Group FaceTime calls and Apple’s ARKit augmented reality apps, both of which were previously unavailable on the iPod touch. In general, Apple also say this will “make everything you do feel faster and more fluid.”
Apple is also highlighting its upcoming Apple Arcade gaming subscription service as a key part of the device. The new iPod comes equipped with the specifications needed to run and download those games.
Apple has also upgraded the iPod storage to 256 GB which now offers even the heaviest of users the room to store all the songs, videos and movies they need. In fact, with 256 GB of storage users can save around 40,000 songs on the device! Another key feature is that it includes a 3.5mm headphone jack meaning users will not need to own Bluetooth headphones or buy an Apple adapter to listen to music.
What hasn’t changed?
Looks-wise, the new iPod is much like the others. Externally, both the seventh generation and the sixth generation are identical. They both have a physical home button, rather than fingerprint reader, a 1.2-megapixel camera on the front, an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a four-inch LCD display screen.
As for price, in general, iPods are cheaper than iPhones due to their offering and this latest model is no exception to the rule. It also comes in 6 colors, space gray, white, gold, blue, pink, and red and is available to purchase in 27 countries from early June 2019.
