What is VR?

VR stands for Virtual Reality. VR uses a head mounted display unit and 360 degree sound to virtually transport users to another place. The display unit tracks the user’s head movements, allowing him or her to look around in the virtual space, and feel as if they are really there.

VR technology is currently primarily used for gaming and entertainment experiences, however it has been touted for many other applications – from education to virtual tourism.

VR headsets available today include the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, which plug into a high-powered PC, or PlayStation VR, which works alongside the PlayStation 4 home console.
