How do I use Vine?

Ever wanted to share a video clip with your friends – and do so in a creative way? Vine is the downloadable mobile app which allows you to do just that.

It’s a video blogging service where you can share six-second video clips with your friends or followers, either through Vine’s own platform, or on Twitter and Facebook.

The really cool thing about Vine is that the video only records when you’re touching the screen, which means you’re able to act as a kind of video editor. There are other opportunities to be creative, thanks to the theming options and grid image tools.

You’ll also be able to tell how popular your video has been. Every so often you’ll get a notification on your phone telling you how many ‘loops’ your video clip has received – in other words, how many times it’s been viewed.

Another cool feature is the ability to follow Viners. If you see a video you particularly like and want to share, you can do so by ‘revining’ the clip, which works in a practically identical way to retweets on Twitter.

If you’re concerned about privacy, don’t worry, you can protect your videos by marking them as ‘protected’.

Interested? The download process is simple. Simply go into your phone’s app store, search for Vine and follow the on-screen instructions. Now you’re ready to film your video clips – just remember to keep them within six seconds!
